L’editore è DOUBLEDAY (Doubleday Company Inc., Garden City, New York), nome storico e fra i più significativi.
The author is clearly a mad Milanese who knows how to spin a story that’s lonely with laughs.
First he creates a mythical tip: this will make an unusual gift for that special adult friend who’s devoted to olives, caviar, the Marx Brothers, W:C: Fields and Leonardo da Vinci.
Parola mia, d’autore.

< Excellent book, for kids and adults!

This book is BRILLIANT! A familiar good vs evil plot, beautiful illustrations, and chock full of bizarre situations. Reading this book to a child, and pointing out all the hysterical things in the illustrations, is a complete joy. Definitely worth locating and purchasing used.

I found this book on a sale table in Palo Alto as a child and enjoyed it for many years. It is absolutely brilliant! Cute, funny, dramatic, extremely creative, and wholly original. Later I gave this wonderful book away, and still later I realized that giving it away was a mistake, and I found another copy online. Now my book collection is complete once again.
